International Women’s Day 2026

International Women’s Day 2026 cover

Imagine a gender equal world, free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive, where difference is valued and celebrated.

This International Women’s Day (IWD), we join the global movement to celebrate women’s achievements and reaffirm our commitment to advancing gender equality.

Observed for over 100 years, IWD belongs to everyone who believes in creating a more inclusive world. It’s a day to celebrate progress, raise awareness about ongoing challenges, and take action to drive meaningful change.

2026 Theme: #GiveToGain

This year’s theme, #GiveToGain, reminds us that when we invest in women, through opportunity, support, and advocacy, we all benefit. Giving our time, resources, and voices helps build stronger workplaces, stronger communities, and a more equitable future.

At Melton Waves, we are proud to support International Women’s Day by celebrating the women in our teams and communities and continuing our efforts toward greater equity and inclusion.

Spotlight on our Female Leaders: Meet Mahsa

To celebrate IWD 2026, we’re sitting down with one of our incredible Personal Trainers, Mahsa, to talk about her journey and how she empowers the Melton community.

What inspired your career in fitness? "I saw how powerful movement is, not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. Training gave me structure and resilience when I really needed it. I realised that fitness isn't just about aesthetics; it's about feeling capable and in control of your life. That shift from self doubt to self belief is exactly what I wanted to help others achieve."

What do you love most about coaching our community? "The people! Watching a member lift a weight they never thought possible or walking in with more confidence than they had a month ago is everything. Coaching is about building trust and a space where people feel supported. Our community motivates me just as much as I motivate them."

What is your advice for women looking to build confidence in the gym? "Confidence comes from showing up despite the nerves. Every woman you see in the gym once walked in feeling unsure of herself, the difference is she kept going. Focus on building strength, not shrinking yourself. Take up space, ask questions, and celebrate every small win. You belong in the gym just as much as anyone else."

How do you stay motivated and prioritise your own wellbeing? "I don’t rely on motivation; I rely on consistency. I treat my health as a non negotiable commitment. I also focus on my 'why', I train for mental clarity and stress relief, not just results. Most importantly, I’ve learned that sustainable health isn’t about extremes; it’s about balance and knowing when to rest so I can show up fully for the people I coach."

Celebrating Our Team

From our expert swim coaches to our personal trainers, the women at Melton Waves are the backbone of our supportive environment. We celebrate their contributions, their expertise, and the positive impact they have on our members' lives every single day.

Together, we can forge gender equality. Together, we #GiveToGain.
