As one of Australia’s fastest-growing communities, the City of Melton is planning how our recreational facilities will meet the needs of our expanding population over the next 20 years.
To make sure our facilities remain affordable, accessible, and sustainable, Council has prepared the Draft Aquatic and Leisure Strategy 2026–2046 and we want your feedback on our proposed high-level strategic directions.
Why a New Strategy?
This draft strategy directly responds to key local opportunities and challenges, including:
- Improving Melton Waves Leisure Centre
- Meeting the growing community need for learn-to-swim programs, wellness facilities, and family-friendly spaces.
- Balancing future investments with equitable access and cost-of-living pressures.
You Spoke, We Listened
Thank you to everyone who completed our initial survey in March 2025.
Your insights highlighted the need to address overcrowding, outdated change rooms, and the lack of warm water and waterplay areas at Melton Waves.
You also told us you want flexible opening hours, better health programs, and inclusive facilities for all residents.
Have Your Say!
We are now inviting you to share your level of support and feedback on the draft strategy.
Please complete the short feedback survey at the bottom of the article here by 11:59 pm on Sunday, 26 July 2026.
