Member Spotlight – Men’s Mental Health Week

Men's Mental Health Week in June is an important time to pause, reflect, and keep the conversation going. It's about creating spaces where we can talk openly about well-being and remind each other that mental health is just as important as physical health.

To help us mark the occasion, we caught up with our Member of the Month, Dylan. His fitness journey is a powerful reminder of how overcoming the initial hurdles of exercising can lead to profound changes inside and out. Dylan shared how stepping into the gym has not only transformed his physical health but also provided a massive boost to his daily mental well-being:

"I enjoy going to the gym because it makes me feel like I am accomplishing something and makes me feel really good."

Taking that first step is often the hardest part, especially when you are feeling overwhelmed, intimidated, or unsure of yourself. Reflecting on his own starting point, Dylan offered this incredibly encouraging advice for anyone who might be hesitant to begin:

"I was once 30kg heavier than I am now and didn't want to go, but going to the gym isn't as hard as it seems. You just have to start, consistency is key."

His story is proof that simply showing up for yourself is half the battle. Whether you are lifting weights, going for a swim, or joining a group fitness class, building a consistent routine is a great way to boost your mood, build confidence, and take charge of your mental health.

Incredible effort Dylan!
